I am an licensed clinical social worker (LSCW), registered play therapy supervisor (RPT-S), advanced certified autism specialist (ACAS), and certified clinical trauma specialist (CCTP).  I specialize in play therapy and sandtray therapy with children and adolescents as well as family therapy.  I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy in combination with play and sandtray therapy for children and adolescents.

I have more than 10 years experience working as a therapist and graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2010 with my master’s degree in social work.  Following graduation, I had the opportunity to work at the Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center where I gained valuable knowledge and experience that is rare working with the most severe mentally ill children and families in the state of Indiana.  I provide training and supervision for other aspiring play therapists in addition to seeing clients in the office.

I operate from a Jungian and mostly child-centered play therapy approach.  This approach allows children to feel safety and connection which the basis for children working through or playing through whatever has brought them to my office.  Play therapy teaches social skills as well as self-expression in appropriate ways, increases cognitive processes, provides stress relief, encourages imagination, and fosters creativity.

I provide support and practical feedback as necessary to help children and families effectively address personal life changes.  I offer a highly personalized approach to each client and their family.  With compassion and understanding, I work with each client and family to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
