Using Play Therapy to Treat Children with Trauma

This training is meant for therapists who currently use or wanting are wanting to use play therapy in their practice. This training is meant to help therapists learn indications of trauma in children, gain an understanding of how to connect to vulnerable children, and develop an understanding of play therapy interventions that can be used to treat trauma in children. 

Learning objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to list the vast array of possible symptoms of trauma in children.
  2. Participants will learn how to connect with children as well as the importance of building relationships in the beginning of treatment.
  3. Participants will learn hands-on activities to utilize when treating childhood trauma.


This training will take place via Zoom due to COVID-19. 



Using Play Therapy to Treat Children with Trauma

  • Participants will earn 4 CEU’s from Playful Healing & Counseling through the State of Indiana (LCSW, LSW. LMHC, LMHC-A, LMFT) and the Association of Play Therapy. The email and shipping address you use to register is where your certificate will be sent. The exact method for distributing certificates varies based on the training. You will be advised about this by the presenter for your course.
